How to properly handle our cakes...
It is important to note that our cakes are different from any you have ever had. There is a reason our cakes and cupcakes taste so good. It's called real BUTTER!!!
By using butter we make things harder on ourselves and on you, but it is SO worth it in order to have the best tasting cakes and cupcakes around!
When I say "harder on ourselves" I mean that it does take longer to frost cakes smoothly and do simple decorating techniques. We have to handle our buttercream with delicate hands, so to speak.
When I say "harder on you" what I mean is it's actually more inconvenient for you. Butter is temperature sensitive. Therefore, you can't leave our cupcakes or cakes out at room temparture for long periods of time. You have to keep in mind that anything over 72 degrees is considered warm to butter. So you will need to plan carefully what time to pick up your order if you won't have access to a refrigerator afterwards.
Cupcakes shouldn't be left out at room temperature longer than 3 - 4 hours.
Cakes shouldn't be left out at room temperature longer than 2 - 3 hours.
When driving in a car we seldom think about the constant light vibration the car makes as it travels down the road. That light vibration is buttercream's worst enemy. Therefore, we recommend that our cakes not be in a car longer than 45 minutes. Anything over 45 minutes we highly suggest you hire us to deliver the cake. Cupcakes can travel in the car up to 2 hours if need be.
We realize it isn't always convenient to plan to pick up your cake order right before your party starts. In those cases we suggest that you keep your order in your home refrigerator until 30 minutes before your party starts. That helps ensure that your cake/cupcakes look their best during your event.
